Grifter

A highly detailed illustration of Grifter, an old-school hero with a bad attitude and a red train robber style mask, oh, and did I mention his guns? This is a favorite comic character of ours, and so he gets drawn frequently (so you may see him again!). This is a pin-up style illustration that really gets into the details and texture of his uniform and gear. Taken from the book of Matthew, this image illustrates a very promising verse in the Bible:  “Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven” (18:10). A fun and challenging page to work on of Kami jumping through the canopy of a Mech-tank. Kami is the more acrobatic member of the Hand of the Morningstar team, so I wanted this this shot to be very fluid and show off that aspect of him, as well as his unique power of morphing into whatever he touches. So it also posed some challenges, like how do you show him coming through the canopy, but  without breaking it.
