The Lord is a Warrior

This was a piece I did for a friend who gave me the idea back in College. I believe the idea originated from the book of Ezekiel, where it describes the LORD as a Warrior who slaughters all those who oppose Him. Below him is the blood of his enemies. “The LORD is a Warrior” is what Moses and the Israelites proclaimed when God drowned the pursuing Egyptians in the Red Sea. Taken from the book of Matthew, this image illustrates a very promising verse in the Bible:  “Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven” (18:10). A favorite hero of many, and certainly in the spotlight recently with his own movie, and not to mention, soon to be a part of the Avengers franchise next summer. One such fan commissioned this piece from Eric around the time of the THOR movie debut. Certainly not an action shot but a shot capturing the hero in all his glory, hammer in hand. Eric did this piece in blue pencil first to get his lines down, and then finished it off with tight pencils. You can still see the blue lines underneath giving it a sort of glow, but it adds a little life to it rather than just being black and...

T his is an illustration we did for a client who needed to add a face to their event. The event was a Men’s Conference, and the slogan was “Battle Ready,” so obviously an awesome ancient looking warrior was the perfect image! The event was a hit, and the men loved the artwork that we provided, it really fired them up and got their blood pumping. By adding an image and face to your event it can provide a great reference point and mental picture to really drive home the event and it’s theme. Their staff also had a graphic designer in house who was able to take our art...
