Midnight Dreams sketches

U sing images from other pages by Mike S. Miller on Shakespeare’s,  “A Mid-Summers Night Dream,” mobile comic; Eric did test art for the project creating a nice collage of characters. Recreating the detailed yet simplistic rendering style that Mike is known for, Eric focused on the detail lines that give each element its own texture and feel. The tree for instance and the running maiden’s dress all have certain textures and defining lines that distinguish them from other objects.

Representation is the key to any good artists arsenal. Using only lines on a page, are they able to capture any object and convey it’s own individual look and feel simply by representing it with identifying lines or markings? That is what sets apart the good artist, from the master.
