A fun and challenging page to work on of Kami jumping through the canopy of a Mech-tank. Kami is the more acrobatic member of the Hand of the Morningstar team, so I wanted this this shot to be very fluid and show off that aspect of him, as well as his unique power of morphing into whatever he touches. So it also posed some challenges, like how do you show him coming through the canopy, but without breaking it. He had to be simply sliding through it as his body takes on the properties of the windshield itself. So I (Eric) illustrated that by showing Kami’s body half-in half-out of the windshield while he’s coming through grabbing for the driver of the tank. This process also included using the toning aspect of the page to show which parts of Kami were still outside, and which ones had already come through.
Then we follow that up by showing Kami subsequently nabbing the driver, who is very shocked I might add!
