More Mighty Med Art

Here is a look at the final pencils that went straight to colors. Eric had to get really tight on his pencils and get an “inked” look on the pages. Take a look at some more pages below. Some panels are blank because they were added later. The production team taking care of the video end of the introduction had to get the still shots to us, which in some instances, didn’t take place until days before the project deadline! So it was a constant back and forth, and team effort! Many thanks to Roger LA on...

Mighty Med Show Intro art

Recently we had an amazing opportunity to work on a project that was featured with Disney XD, called Mighty Med. Tracing the adventures of two high schoolers who happen to be doctors for Superheroes (how cool is that!?!) they get to save the guys who save us! Eric was tapped to pencil the pages that would be seen in the featured introduction to the show. The work was fast paced and the deadlines were unlike anything we’ve encountered before, but that’s “show biz” for ya. Eric was able to pull it off, and the results are amazing! But it was a collaborative effort,...

Ultimate X-Men pg 1

Here is the first of three sequential pages that Eric did for Marvel comics for submission. Using the script from Ultimate X-men 46, Eric recreated the scene in his own style and taste, similar to that of Jim Lee or Marc Silvestri. The first scene here is at the new Xavier’s School for the gifted, but more specifically in the Danger Room. Wolverine and Colossus are polishing off the last of some menacing machines, slicing and splitting as they please. Two X-men that I would not want to be in the middle...

Now that their little danger room session is over, Colossus wants some more training. But it seems Wolverine is in need of a little persuading first… Nothing like a punch in the jaw to get good old Logan ready for a scrap, eh? Well, I think Colossus is going to get more than he bargained for. Wait till you see page...

The metal clashing conclusion to the sample pages. Wolverine, offering Colossus a blow in kind, which would otherwise render a man dead in his tracks. Technically, Colossus too, seeing as adamantium can cut through any metal, but the script here called for merely sparks flying off his chest. However, what the script did call for, was a pin-up style shot of Wolverine’s blow, which I think Eric captured nicely. I would love this picture hanging from my wall! Wouldn’t...

DC Universe Online page

A test page that Eric had the privilege of working on with comic artist great, Mike S. Miller. With the launch of the new DC Universe Online game, DC comics was looking to do a promo comic to offer with the game. They were looking for a style similar to that of the man who designed the look of the whole universe; none other then comic legend, Jim Lee. Eric, who is all to familiar with the style of Lee, tag-teamed with Mike to produce this amazing test page to present to DC for the gig. Using all new designs for the classic heroes and villains, Mike provided the breakdowns for the page, Eric...

Another action-packed scene from the Hand of the Morningstar series. Micheal is retaliating after Titan pushes Elena, Micheal’s wife. If you are familiar with the series you know that Micheal and Titan are constantly at odds with one another. In this, the seventh volume in the series, Micheal evens the score between the two; but really, does anyone really win in a fight? Pencils and inks by Eric Ninaltowski, tones by Diego...

HOTM 6 pg.42

A fun and challenging page to work on of Kami jumping through the canopy of a Mech-tank. Kami is the more acrobatic member of the Hand of the Morningstar team, so I wanted this this shot to be very fluid and show off that aspect of him, as well as his unique power of morphing into whatever he touches. So it also posed some challenges, like how do you show him coming through the canopy, but  without breaking it. He had to be simply sliding through it as his body takes on the properties of the windshield itself. So I (Eric) illustrated that by showing Kami’s body half-in half-out of the...

Finishing off the driver. Part of Kami’s ability is not only to be able to morph himself through objects, but anyone he touches as well. So here we see after Kami grabs the driver in the cockpit, he morphs them both right through the Mech-tank to the ground. This was a fun page to work on as well, I think it came out pretty...
