Merry Christmas

“Merry Christmas!” From Santa and Rudolph… And it’s the perfect time of year, Christmas day is just a few days away! So from Divine Fire Studios, to you and yours, we wish you a wonderful spirit-filled Merry Christmas and a great New Year! This illustration was another design for a clients greeting card business. Rendered in a very soft way to capture that child-like glow, Santa had to look classic as well as Rudolph, everyone’s favorite red-nosed reindeer. Taking out the hard black lines from the inking stage we were able to create an almost painted look adding...

Tooth Fairy

A very timeless rendition of a beloved kids character. Everyone has heard of the Tooth Fairy, and how she will sneak your lost tooth right out from under your pillow while you sleep, and leave a special gift in return. This was done for a clients new greeting card business, and recreating timeless characters to share with the ones you love all year round. It was important to capture the soft and enchanted character of the flying beauty, and do it in a child-like way, similar to the Disney movies kids are so in love with today. The glow about her also give her that extra touch to say...

Divine Fire

Another look for the Divine Fire logo, this one was designed in illustrator using a fusion of an emblem and a surf-board look. Fire was set in the background to act as the main image and to give the logo it’s positive space and force it out from the black set behind it. Using positive space (the space that is occupied by an object or image) and negative space (the empty space, in this case the black) creatively is a powerful way to really make an image stand out. Another option is to reverse this effect and have your image or logo in black (negative space) or  silhouetted against an...

Fight Shop sign

A Sign designed for a new Fight Shop in Santee, California. Offering a wide range of MMA gear and training they wanted a look that represented the spirit of Martial Arts and Jiu Jitsu. Going with an explosive look, lightning and sparks were dded to juice it up, and to allow for a nice contrast when lit at night. Also a bigger font was used to really represent the boldness of the MMA world, plus a little distress added to the letters to add the finishing touch. After all, if you’re going to get in a ring you are sure to emerge a little damaged. Here is a picture of the...

S een here is the artwork for a Tea Room Logo, which was done in a very simple rendering style, which gives it that elegant feel while not being overly detailed. This was used for a business card as well as labeling products. They cropped it down and used it as they wished, but as you can see it turned out very nice. Our designs are crafted to fit the look and style that meets your need, whether it’s modern or classic. W hen I started my own business I wanted my own logo, not a copy of someone else’s. Eric gave me exactly...

T-shirt design for a Jiu Jitsu studio, lead by Martial Arts Expert Trainer Roy Harris -pictured on far left in the blue gi. For this particular logo design the owner of the gym wanted himself to be pictured in the image, so it was important to get his likeness down correctly. It took a few tries but we got it to where he was happy. Also desired for this design was various ethnicity’s, genders, and age groups to be represented, to convey the wide range of students he...

New Look

L aunching our new website required that we updated our look a bit as well, so we designed a new logo to go with it. We kept the same fonts but decided on a new iconic graphic that would be a type of badge for us, something we could use for various things; like a flavicon, or a facebook avatar. It’s simple and yet genius, you’ll notice the flame used to represent the fire is in the form of an F. Just a great little graphic design trick that makes for a powerful...

DFS logo 1

T his was our first go at a logo for our design studio. It took a few tries and it took some trial and error but in the end we found something we could be proud of. If we were to change anything today it would probably be the flames on the “fire,” they seem a little weak for flames, but other than that we wouldn’t change a thing. We love the colors and the positive negative space use with the “STUDIOS” with the black background is marvelous. When considering a logo for your company or brand it’s important to think of a good color scheme. Most logos you can...

Another page from the Off The Street book for students. This is the lesson header for the second lesson, “The Fall,” which takes students into the reality of the dangers of drug use, and how it can effect your long term dreams and goals. As with many of these pages it incorporates different mediums and layers all for the purpose of getting the theme of the lesson acrossed. Knowing how to use the different mediums and effects is indispensable for getting the message relayed to your audience and what each can do for the overall impact of the message...
